Global LNG - LNG
Competency
Client: Global LNG
Website: www.vships.com
Project title: "LNG Competency Training"
Date: January 2005
The Requirement:
To create a multimedia training and
competency assessment package that would measure the competency of
officers being considered for service on an LNG Carrier and to
assist the development of staff during intensive 28 day training
voyages onboard ship.
The Solution:
The training material was prepared to
cover LNG management staff and OOW. General LNG Safety information
is provided for the crew.
A summary of the operation and technical
requirements of the equipment commonly found onboard, such as:
Compressors, nitrogen generators, relief valves, ESDS and the cargo
vaporiser, was prepared in consultation with client.
3D and cross sectional diagrams of the
four main LNG types, Kvaerner Moss Rosenberg, Gaz Transport,
Technigaz and the Type 'B' Self Supporting Prismatic LNG Carriers,
are included.
In addition to cargo information, ship
specific functionality and assessments there are step-by-step
sequences working through the various cargo phases from gassing up
to gas freeing.
